Fiesta Crafts 5 A Day Chart named ‘Critics Choice’ at the Max-It Awards

The multi-award winning 5 A Day Chart from London toy company Fiesta Crafts has has received yet another accolade!

The Magnetic 5 A Day Chart from Fiesta Crafts, a unique concept which encourages children to eat healthily, was named ‘Critics Choice’ by a panel of judges from a range of disciplines both inside and outside of the toy and game sector at the British Toy and Hobby Association (BTHA) MAX-IT Awards. It was also finalist in the same awards for its hugely successful marketing and PR campaign for the chart.

This success tops an incredible year for Fiesta Crafts. Just recently, the marketing of the chart was recognised by the UK fresh produce industry itself at their own awards ceremony as one of the leading supporters of the 5 A Day campaign. In 2006 the 5 A Day Chart was awarded a Gold in the prestigious Practical Pre-School Awards and this new tribute adds to the already impressive list of awards that Fiesta Crafts has received for the innovative products created by its in-house design team.

The 5 A Day Reward Chart is the first toy that to be licensed by the Department of Health’s 5 A Day campaign and is remarkably effective in encouraging children to eat their five portions of fruit or vegetables each day. Magnetic pieces representing different fruit or veg are moved onto a ‘plate’ when they are eaten, and a week’s worth of full plates can earn a reward or treat.

Now in their third year, the MAX-IT Awards are organised by the BTHA to recognise and reward excellence in the UK hobby, game and toy industry.

The BTHA’s judging panel commented: “The wallchart from Fiesta Crafts is a very original approach, as it creates a toy out of the nationwide ‘five-a-day’ marketing campaign. It’s also a very useful and simple product for parents to use. It is a great example of the useful role toys play in engaging children.”
