creAtiles in HAMLEY’S BEST TOYS OF THE YEAR Competition

Hamley's Category WinnerThe Hamleys Prize for the Best Toy is a prime indicator of the toys that children will want for Christmas. Last year the overall winner, Robosapien, went on to be the most talked about and sought-after toy of the year. The Hamleys Prize the only toy prize which combines rigorous testing by real families, with an objective judging panel making the final decisions.

This year’s judges, chaired by toy enthusiast and TV personality Jonathan Ross, have finished their initial deliberations, and come up with the winners which includes Fiesta Crafts’ creAtiles for:

• The One of a Kind Toy - for the most original and quirky toy

These category winners are now in the running to be the overall winner of The Hamleys Prize for Best Toy 2005. This will be announced at a VIP event with the judging panel and family panels at Hamleys, Regent Street, London, on Sunday 23 October. Chairman Jonathan Ross will make the announcements.

To get this far, the toys have made it through a punishing round of testing by family panels from around the UK, and a hotly-debated meeting in which Jonathan Ross was joined by an impressive line up of fellow panellists: journalist and author, Rebecca Abrams; designer, Wayne Hemingway; psychiatrist, Dr Raj Persaud and award-winning children’s author, Jacqueline Wilson.

“We had a great time putting the toys through their paces. The winning toys are all the better for needing lots of input from the kids – from the imagination needed to enjoy Dragon Mountain and Creatiles...” comments Jonathan Ross.
