Silver success for Old MacDonald
Starts
Soft safe play came up trumps for Old MacDonald’s Noisy Barn at the Good Toy Guide awards held at London’s Magic Circle on Thursday the 13th July 2006. This innovative colourful product designed in the UK by London based toy company - Fiesta Crafts was given a prestigious Silver award in the toys category for babies aged 0-12 months.
The award continues a hugely successful year for the company which saw its pioneering creAtiles® win the coveted Hamleys’ Toy of the Year Award in December.
Fiesta Crafts specialises in well designed and original, fabric based toys, wall charts and puppets that allow a child to make the most of their imagination during playtime - and Old Macdonald’s Noisy Barn is no exception. The noisy barn itself is made of soft plush fabric and comes with farmer and four animals who give a realistic “moo”, “neigh”, “quack” or “oink” when their tummies are pressed, so children can sing the classic song to their hearts content resulting in lots of fun and laughter. The vibrantly coloured carry along barn with its white picket fence and bright red walls has double doors and peek-a-boo windows for creative role-play and is the ideal place to store away all the pieces afterwards.
The award success for Fiesta Crafts didn’t stop there however, with another of their soft colourful toys being ‘Highly Recommended’ in the same category. Tooting Teddy Train comes with engine and nine carriages, each in a different colour and all with a matching teddy passenger. The Smart engine driver in his red cap and passengers are each numbered from one to ten in words and dots - which is great for helping little ones acquire basic numeracy skills. This marvellous, soft, safe toy is can also be stacked which helps a child develop important hand eye co-ordination.
Talking of the award, Marketing Manager of Fiesta Crafts - Rob Trup said: “We are delighted with the awards that we have received. The Good Toy Guide Awards are well respected and important to a company like Fiesta Crafts who put a great deal of thought into producing well made affordable products with great play value. As the awards are evaluated by children themselves through the National Association of Toy Lending Libraries, we feel they are a true measure of what makes a good toy”.
